Dave Bever
Visionary Planter/Fund developer/Lead Pastor
Pastor Dave (A.K.A REV. D) is a passionate communicator and visionary leader, people can trust that what Rev. sets out to do, he will accomplish. He demonstrates a great deal of faith in the Lord that truly no matter how large the task or impossible it may appear, God truly is capable and faithful to accomplish it on time. Dave has become known for teaching and living the real, relevant, and relational life of a Christ follower. In addition to his role as lead Pastor at New City, Dave has a growing intenerate ministry preaching and teaching a specific message he believes God called him to preach to the church of the 21st century. Dave has been married to his amazing wife Jamie of 10 years and they have two really cool kids Josiah (6), and Madison (4). Dave is an animated individual and is straight to the point in his living and conversations, he won’t make you guess about what he’s thinking or feeling.
Dave came back home to North East Ohio (Cleveland) to plant New City, a vision that God birthed in his heart and soul almost 9 years ago while serving as the youth and music pastor in inner city Youngstown, Ohio. He often tells the story of what brought him to Cleveland wasn’t what kept him here, God works in mysterious ways to bring us right where He wants us to be and then leaves it up to us to do what He calls us to do or make excuses. Dave’s passion for Cleveland is seen in his life and the amount of time and energy he pursues God with for lost people in the city. Dave loves sports and is a diehard Cleveland fan (Browns, CAVS, Indians, Monsters, etc.) “No excuses we need to put on for our city, through thick and thin that’s what family does!” Dave truly believes that community transformation is a reality when the gospel becomes the primary method of best practice. In all truth Dave A.K.A (Rev.D.) knows he doesn’t have it all figured out, and believes we should all be committed to lifelong learning, Dave is currently working on his Masters of Divinity degree and has earned a Degree in “doing it” and a PhD of “Practice”, and to him those are the best degrees to graduate with!
